Ron Fentz started DJing in 1998. A small group of dancers would meet once a week on the East Side of Indianapolis where Ron would spin the tunes for them to dance the night away. After a little more than two years this group decided to form a club and the Brickyard Boogie Dancers was officially brought to life. In addition to being one of the founding members, Ron holds the title of President and is the standing DJ for the club’s Wednesday night dances. Ron is also a member of the Derby City Bop Club, Indy Swing Dance Club, and the National Association of R & B DJ’s. He guest DJ’s for several dance clubs in the Indianapolis area, as well as providing music for private parties.

Ron hasn’t limited his DJ’ing to local events. He’s been in the rotation of DJ’s for a number of weekend dance conventions including:

"Steel City Boogie" in Pittsburg, PA;

"Sweet Home Chicago" in Chicago, IL;

"Beat the Heat" and "Jammin-in-July" both in Columbus, OH;

"Rollin-on-the-River" in St. Louis, MO;

and of course, our very own yearly weekend Bop event -

"BoogieTime2005" in Indianapolis, IN.

Being a lover of good dance music, when Ron isn’t spinning the tunes for dancers, he’s on the dance floor himself. Ron stays busy during the day as a general contractor building custom homes and light commercial buildings – his profession for 35 years.
